Caroskin™ is a concept that includes 4 made to measure products and that is support by the specialised Scarban® range of products. Those products are products that are being used for the prevention of scar formations. Caroskin™ products can be used at any stage of the scar formation. It is advisable to work, when possible, in a preventive way. Old and existing scars that hurt or that limit your movements to a certain extent tend to become more flexible which will allow you to increase your mobility and lessen in many cases the constant pain.

Scar formations occur when wound closure has been attained and the excessive collagen (substance that the body provides to repair the breached skin) starts to show scar formations. This can be monitored by analysing the skin colour. The more red an area is (many blood vessels that help repairing the area with collagen) the more chances scar formations will occur and therefore Caroskin™ products should be used. Some injuries however leave white scars that naturally fade away after time. The Caroskin™ silicone sheets or silicone garments will stop the hydration of the skin by providing a semi-occlusive effect and will therefore help the underneath healing of the closed wound area which indicates that less blood will be needed at the area and therefore less collagen and therefore less chances on scar formations.
